It’s common these days to see young families using their parent’s back yards as a place to build their first home.
This stylish, one level lane house was elegantly dropped in to a quiet neighbourhood on Vancouver’s Westside, behind the client’s mother’s heritage home. The 940 square foot design had a specific set of priorities. Entertaining guests, fitness (as illustrated by the workout room) and room for a growing family. The flexibility of the fitness room makes multiple children a reality for this young family.
The laneway house features polished concrete floors, straight grain oak veneer millwork, a prominent hearth to centre the living area, and client supplied lighting fixtures from Bocci.
